Overview:
InstAppraisal is the largest online antique, collectible, and art site on the Internet since 1991. Requirements demanded that a complete new application be engineered to support high-availability and high-speed processing for InstAppraisal.com clients and administrators.

Technologies Used:
InstAppraisal was moved into an Amazon AWS Cloud based redundant server architecture, that included splitting the MySQL database from it’s origin server and having all database processing happen outside the web server infrastructure. Web server was moved from Apache to NGINX and utilizes Varnish, memcached, and other proprietary caching mechanisms to provide an improved performance response to customers submitting appraisal requests. Project was moved from a Java based application to a completely custom Drupal application in order to add new functionality, facilitate ease-of-use for users and administrators, and to provide a more easily upgradeable solution.
